The Atlanta Falcons won their first (and still only) NFC title in 1998. Atlanta posted a 14-2 record under head coach Dan Reeves, winning the NFC West before dispatching the division rival 49ers in the divisional playoff round. The Falcons then rallied to upset the Vikings in overtime in the NFC Championship Game to earn their first Super Bowl appearance. Atlanta then fell to Denver 34-19 in Super Bowl XXXIII in Miami.
